I just wanted to recap what went on in October so that we remember all of the fun happenings of this month.
- Took kids to Temple Square for Family Night and saw "God's Plan for the Family". It was excellent and the kids really enjoyed it. Madi said one part reminded her of Grandma Smith and it was really special to her. We let the kids go downstairs and look at all of the displays and watch some of the videos. We ended the night by visiting the Christus which is always a special treat. We reminded Brookie that when she was about 2 years old she wanted to go up and touch Jesus and we told her she couldn't. Her reply was simply, "But Jesus loves me."
- We made SPUDNUTS!!! That was surely a highlight of the month, even though we weren't able to share them with the WHOLE family. They were SO good and I've decided that we need to do them more than once a year, so we're going to try New Year's Eve too.
- Madi and Brookie have been involved in the "Joseph" play and that is going well. They enjoy being in the performances, but are excited to actually SEE the play...hopefully soon! Aunt Becca, Aunt Shelly, and Grandma Judie got to see them in it last Friday and they absolutely LOVED it!
- Last, but not least, we were able to go to the Capitol to go Trick-or-Treating again this year. Unfortunately, the Governor was in India, so we didn't get to meet with him like we did last year, but the kids had a blast and got TONS of candy (three days before Halloween) so they were pretty excited. The above pic was taken by someone at the Governor's office while we were there. If you can't tell, Madi was an Elfin Princess from Lord of the Rings, Will: football player, Brooklyn: Pioneer Girl, Evan: Spidey, and Gideon: the cutest pirate ever!
