The Anderson Family: baseball

So we are not very diligent bloggers, that is for sure. Here is an update by Dirk, with more pictures below.

A lot happens in our family of seven (did I just say that!? whoa!!) in a few months. Gideon for instance, has doubled his weight. Well, OK, maybe not doubled. But as of last week, he is up to 22.6 pounds at about his 6-month mark. We think he might have one, but we haven't seen his neck in months!! His knees, however - we are pretty sure they've somehow left his body. He just has chunky calves that go right up to his even chunkier thighs.

Madi had her first softball game tonight. She was 1-for-2, with a single. Everything was fine, until she went and visited Dirk and Will at their team practice at another park. Dirk was pitching to her for batting practice, and got her right in the right knee. It was a pretty bad first hit-by-the-ball experience, ball-to-bone, not like when you get it in the stomach or thigh. Madi won her school's spelling bee as a fifth grader, but didn't make it to the regional finals. Next year, sweet sister, next year!!

Will is playing baseball again, and Dirk is loving coaching his team. They have a lot of young players, so they are really trying to focus on learning the game and having fun. Somehow, though, I think Dirk will do his best to actually win some games, too. Will has also read the first two Harry Potters and is on to the third.

Evan and Brookie are growing like the rest of them. Evan still loves his twice-a-week preschool, and Brookie is a very bright kindergartener.

Rory is trying to finish up another neighborhood painting job with her business. She is doing an AWESOME job on the house!!!

And Dirk is excited to go to Boston with work at the end of the month. He hopes to see a Red Sox game and a few historical sights, as well.
