The Annual Spudnut Party

I don't have pictures yet, but we held the annual spudnut party last Saturday night, and what a party it was!!!

Dirk's Mom Judie and Rory's sister Rachelle and family friend Celesti (Rachelle's former roommate) came up to help with the party preparation. It was so great to see them all. Moving up to the hinterlands of Smithfield has greatly reduced visits from friends and family; the kids were especially happy to see their college play friends.

So the party was AWESOME. Rory invited most of the neighborhood, and it felt like they brought friends, too. Everyone basically enjoyed the spudnuts and other goodies and visited together. Dirk's Aunt Diana and Uncle Mike Bishop came, along with his cousin (their son) Jeremy and his wife Heather, with the kids.

This year's spudnut harvest featured about 150 donuts and probably 3 or 4 dozen donut holes. It is hard to get a count on the donut holes, because they get eaten about as quickly as they come out and get glazed.

Madi and friend Jonathan ran the Haunted Hollow Fishing Hole for the little kids. The kids would put their fishing pole over a blanket and come out with some candy and a halloween ring with a spider on it. We also had everyone guess how much candy was in a cool pumpkin candy jar, and the winner went home with the jar and candy: 410 pieces of candy corn and pumpkins.

Dirk even got his Settlers of Catan fix Friday night with Rachelle and Celesti (Rachelle won, as usual), and Mom, Rachelle, and Celesti stay to see the kids in their Primary Program on Sunday morning.

We sure have enjoyed the fall season in Cache Valley. We hope you are enjoying a happy harvest where ever you may be!!
