Wow! How Time Flies!

We are just so terrible at keeping a blog, but I guess I can't beat myself up too much because sometimes I feel like I barely have time to breathe....let alone type our life history every day (or week or month)! We went to California for Christmas and had a rockin' good time with EVERYONE! The whole McGunson clan was there (that's McGrath, Anderson, Johnson, and VonGunten put together) and we enjoyed the nice weather and time away from the blizzards here. We celebrated Brookie's birthday at Chuck E. Cheese and she thought that was pretty awesome because it was a surprise.


Somebody needs a HAIRCUT...and it isn't Dirk!

Since Christmas, we've been doing a lot of fasting and praying about Dirk's job because of the severe budget cuts going on around the state. At USU it is estimated that up to 500 employees will lose their jobs and there are only about 3000 employees there as it is. So, we prayed for a miracle and put ALL the faith we could muster into our daily decisions and we feel very blessed. A couple of Fridays ago he found out that in fact he WAS going to be let go and his boss was nice enough to give him a fair severance package. But, the thoughts of having to move again and uproot the kids AGAIN were starting to wear on me. In the matter of literally a week, he found another job, perfect for what he does, with almost the exact same pay. We know it was not OUR doing, but the Lord's and we will never deny that! We are so grateful to all of you who put us in your thoughts and prayers and helped us out. Thank you SO much!
